LPMI Student Succeeds at Getting a Grant

Congratulations to 3^rd Year LPMI student Rowena Wilkinson and Blessed Sacrament Parish in Tampa for being the recipients of a $1500 grant from Oregon Catholic Press. Each year since 2002 Oregon Catholic Press has awarded funds to parish music ministry programs through a grant writing process.

Rowena actually wrote and submitted an entry for her parish in 2006. However, OCP decided to direct those funds to the recovery of Gulf Coast parishes following the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. They kept the applications that had been submitted though, and Rowena’s entry was fortunately one of those selected for a 2007 grant.

Rowena completed the LPMI formation program and was commissioned by Bishop Robert Lynch on June 11, 2007 along with her classmates.

Job well done Rowena!!!
